Practical application for candidates to put into practice the knowledge and skills they will use as a PADI Divemaster. |
Pre-requisite:
- Be at least 18 years old at the start of the course
- Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent.
- Submit a medical clearance for diving signed by a physician certifying the candidate fitness to dive. Medical clearance must be current within the previous 12 months.
- Have completed and logged at least 20 dives to start the course but must have proof of 60 dives to be certified.

Course Schedule:
The Divemaster course has a very flexible schedule. Classes are on any evenings available or even during the day. Pool sessions are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings only. Local weekend dives are on Sundays. If time is problem, we can work out a schedule that would be suitable to you. Flexibility is what we offer.

Duties of a PADI Divemaster:
- Independently guide Open Water Diver students on tour portions of OWD course training dives 2 through 4 (ratio 2:1).
- Accompany OWD students during surface swim and during navigational exercises.
- Conduct any subsequent dives for Discover Scuba Diving participants (ratio 2:1)
- Conduct PADI Discover Local Diving experience for certified divers
- Conduct PADI Discover Snorkeling Program
- Conduct PADI Scuba Review Program for certified divers
- Accompany students divers for PADI Advanced Open Water diver, Specialty diver and Rescue diver courses
- Supervise both training and non-training related activities
- Assist a Teaching status PADI Instructor in the confined water training of divers
- Assist a Teaching status PADI Instructor in the open water training of divers.
