Course Contents:

Reduce stress underwater! Not knowing if you are travelling in the right direction will increase your anxiety and stress level. This course is to help you develop your practical knowledge of Underwater Navigation. Be able to plan, organize and make dives using natural and compass navigation techniques.

Academic 1 session The importance of U/W Navigation. Distance estimation. Natural and Compass navigation. Re-locating your dive site. Using the Nav-Finder.

Pool None No pool session required.

Open Sea **3 dives in 2 days Estimation of distances underwater. Natural and compass navigation exercises. Learning and using the Nav-Finder.

** Advanced Open Water Divers or above need only to do 2 dives to complete the Underwater Navigator Specialty.

Pre-requisite:

PADI Junior Open Water Diver, PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent.

What are Included in the course fee:
Materials

U/W Navigation Manual
Certification Card
U/W Navigator Chevron
Rental of

Boat
BCD and Regulator system (for local training only)
SCUBA cylinders
Weight belt with weights

What are NOT included:

Personal basic gears of Mask, Snorkel and Fins.
Wetsuit (rental availavble)

Course Fee:

S$280 Local training
S$480 Between 2 to 3 training dives and another 2 to 3 leisure dives on a weekend to either Pulau Aur or Pulau Tioman . (Rental of BCD and Regulator system an additional S$30).

** We would recommend that this course be done locally in Singapore as the conditions here would make this course more challenging. We have always said: "If you can find your way around our waters, you can find your way around anywhere underwater".

Minimum Students Required:
No minimum numbers required to start.

Course Schedule:

Academics on any evening available. Local dives on any Sunday(s). Weekend to Pulau Aur or Pulau Tioman is from Friday evening to Sunday evening.

Underwater navigation is not just simply knowing how to use a compass. It is also knowing the underwater environment that you are diving in and the natural topography and signs that helps in accurately finding your way around. Be familiar with your dive sites!
