Searching for Lost "Treasures"!

Course Contents:

Losing a mask or your diamond-studded watch overboard doesn't neccessary mean it is lost forever. Knowing the proper skills, planning, organization, techniques and procedures, will increase your chances of recovering that object - all within recreational limits of course! .

Academic 1 session Developing your knowledge of Search & Recovery diving. How to plan and organise Search & Recovery dives. Using this knowledge to participate in other diving activities.

Pool None No pool session required.

Open Sea **4 dives over 2 days A small-area search and a large-area search with different search patterns. Rigging an object for lifting with a lift-bag

** Advanced Open Water Divers that did the Search & Recovery dive as an elective dive need only to do 3 dives to complete the Search & Recovery Specialty.

Pre-requisite:

PADI Junior Open Water or Open Water Diver with an Underwater Navigator specialty.
PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent

What are Included in the course fee:
Materials

Search & Recovery Diver Chevron
Certification Card
Rental of

Boat
BCD and Regulator system (for local training only)
SCUBA cylinders
Weight belt with weights
Ropes and Lift bag

What are NOT included:

Personal basic gears of Mask, Snorkel and Fins.
Wetsuit (rental availavble)

Course Fee:

S$280 Local training
S$480 Between 3 to 4 training dives and another 1 to 2 leisure dives on a short weekend to either Pulau Aur or Pulau Tioman.

** We would recommend that this course be done locally in Singapore as the conditions here, with its limited visibility, would make this course most challenging.

Minimum Students Required:
Minimum of Two (2) students required to start the practical dives.

Course Schedule:
Academics on any evening available. Local dives on any Sunday(s). Weekend to either Pulau Aur or Pulau Tioman will start from Friday evening till Sunday evening.

Searching and recovering an object may not be the norm on most dive trips. However, when the need arises, knowing what to do to recover the "lost treasure" and succeeding, will give you a feeling of great satisfaction. Search & Recovery will also come in handy when doing the Rescue Diver course.
